UNB Head Start

The UNB Head Start Program

The UNB Head Start program nurtures the healthy growth and development of children in our community.

Our program is designed and delivered by our community and supports the physical development, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual well being of children from birth to age 6.

Children in the Head Start program are invited to participate in a pre-school program to develop self confidence, and start their journey toward becoming successful young people. Our Head Start program provides activities that are built around Nsyilxcen culture and language, education, health promotion, nutrition, social support, and parent involvement. Children in the program are provided many opportunities to learn and play , as well as participate in activities based on the needs and interests of the community

Staff

Our staff have made nutrition a top priority. Healthy snacks are provided for the pre-school and daycare, and Head start is responsible for the community’s Good Food Bin. The Good Food Bin currently has more than 60 bins being delivered to community members.
