We keep in regular communication with the Merritt Central and Merritt Secondary Schools, where most of our UNB students attend school. UNB has two agreements with School District #58 to assist all of our students succeed.
The Local Education Agreement (LEA) is an agreement between School District # 58 and Upper Nicola Band that sets out the roles and responsibilities, obligations, and financial arrangements of both parties to assist UNB students that are registered in School District #58. The term of this agreement will be 5 years, beginning August 1, 2020 and ending July 31st, 2025. Please see attached copy of the LEA.
This agreement is in effect from November 2017 to November 2022. Annually, our district performance data is reviewed and based on the data, an annual action plan is developed to assist all
Aboriginal Students in School District #58. The Enhancement goals that School District #58 and members of the Enhancement Agreement Committee work towards are:
- Goal # 1: To increase the level of health and wellness amongst Aboriginal Students
